Better than the 2013 Platinum
By old dude | on Friday, June 30, 2017
I stepped down from a Platinum to a Lariat, but the Lariat is not a step down. The 3.5 L Ecoboost with the 10 speed trany is a huge step up. New electronic additions like auto high beams, blind spot aid, improved rear camera with trailer hook up help, improved voice command structure and Android connectivity make the 2017 truly a pleasure to drive. Freeway entry is easy and safe even in heavy traffic because of the power and quickness of the V-6 and 10 speed. I have owned 2 King Ranch superdutys and the F 150 Plaimun, but this is without a doubt the best of them all.… - 5.0
Top of the full size class.

After owning several Chevy full size trucks. I decided to test drive Ford and Ram in addition to Chevy while shopping for a new vehicle. I was very impressed with the Ford from the nice interior layout and engine options. I felt after driving all three trucks the Ford was my best option. I have nearly 12,000 miles on the truck and have not had one issue.Im very pleased with my Ford purchase.… - 5.0
Couldn't be more impressed
By jldude | on Tuesday, May 10, 2016
So I used to have an older Ranger, and it was time to get rid of it before it rusted out from under me at the worst time and got me killed. I did not want a full size truck, I perceived them as too big, too hard to park, too heavy, and inferior fuel economy. I didn't feel there was any reason to have such a large vehicle as I rarely hauled anything but kayaks and my motorcycle on occasion. I was in the market for another Ranger, hopefully without rust. I never intended to buy an F-150. But let me tell you the first time I drove this thing I fell in love. Sure, I was leery about buying the first year model of the first aluminum truck ever, higher insurance costs, blahblahblah. All these concerns started to disappear when I heard this Coyote V8 purr as quiet as a Lexus, and they completely disappeared when I put the pedal to the floor. This engine is a beast and, in a lightweight body such as this, it hauls tail in an instant. 9,000 miles later, I've yet to find a single design fault or reliability problem and I couldn't be happier. It actually gets better mpg in every driving condition than my old Ranger(even though it's still heavier and much more powerful). I average 18 real world city mpg, and I've seen over 23mpg highway at 55mph(average 21-22mpg highway). And when you need to get somewhere quick, you mash the pedal and she downshifts to 2nd or 3rd and rockets ahead with an amazing exhaust note. So far I've only noticed two real downsides, and both are simply due to trim level/option(s) choice. The first is the lack of satellite radio capability despite being equipped with SYNC(seems like an upgraded audio system should come with sat radio standard since basic Kia Rios come with it). The 2nd(and most dearly missed), is the lack of a backup camera. A vehicle this size should have at least a cheap $120 backup camera system standard in my opinion. I have also noticed that some of the exterior panel fit/finish is a bit less precise than you'd expect(not sure if it was intended to be so because every aluminum F-150 I've seen on the dealer lots have the same panel gaps and fitment quirks). You can look down the side of the truck in the driver's side mirror, and see the doors aren't perfectly aligned with the box panels, but it doesn't affect door seals or anything. Bottom line, this truck is king of the hill for a dang good reason. I encourage you to test drive one(hopefully with a V8, but even the turbo V6 version will impress), and put the hammer down and decide for yourself.…
